Last night a motorcyclist outran police after they attempted to pull him over. Sometime after - how long after we do not know - he crashed and is in a critical condition.
I have only two things to say about this. Firstly, don't run from police. Ever.
Secondly, police chases are bad. I don't have an alternative, but we should not content ourselves with the status quo. There are too many critical injuries and fatalities as a result of scared people making bad decisions in the heat of the moment. And these people - or the innocent victims who get caught up in the chase - pay a price for what are comparatively trivial crimes. Too high a price.
